Locally owned and operated by Steve, Joe, Pat and Lisa Seidensticker and partner Jeff Greco, The Francis is the special events venue and catering operation in this family of independent restaurants that also include the award-winning Libby’s Café + Bar and recently opened Louies Modern, adjacent to The Francis on the street level of the modernistic Palm Avenue Garage complex.

The team prides itself on offering a new style of urban flair and sophistication that immediately puts people at ease and engages guests in a fun and festive atmosphere.

The team of partners also own and operate Libby’s Café + Bar in Sarasota, serving small and large plates of Modern American/creative comfort food, which opened in October 2008.  Named after the family matriach, Libby Seidensticker, Libby’s is one of the city’s most popular restaurants, including being recipient of more than 90 local, regional and national awards.   The partners also own and operate newly opened Louies Modern, adjacent to The Francis.  This urban Modern American restaurant is named after the father/grandfather of the Seidenstickers.  Francis is Steve’s middle name and also the first name of Executive Chef Francis (“Fran”) Casciato, who opened Libby’s and is responsible for creating the menus for The Francis and Louies Modern.

California Culinary Academy graduate Keith Dougherty brings more than 20 years experience in the culinary arena.  Spanning from sous chef to pastry positions on up to Executive Chef, Chef Dougherty has serviced some of the country’s most notable and award-winning clubs, hotels, restaurants, catering companies and fishing lodges, including The Ritz-Carlton and Star’s Restaurant in San Francisco, The Washington Athletic Club, Michael’s on East, Brooks Lodge in Katmai National Park in Alaska and Going Bistro Restaurant and ARK Catering.
